This is a sunset in Brooklyn, New York City. Those small buildings far in the distance are part of Manhattan. The newly built Freedom Tower can be seen clearly at night. I like this sunset for the memories of this place. This is the view outside of my grandmothers apartment.
-
-
Sunset in Darkhan, Mongolia. It was a long way getting there but I could not resist following the railroad tracks until the sun set. I like the two train signal lights on the left. They somehow compliment the photo, leaning and all.
-
-
I really like this picture. The sun almost looks like a meteor falling down. The picture is gentle yet somehow cold at the same time. It evokes that subtle dramatic feeling of anticipation.
-
-
-
Sunset in Darkhan, Mongolia again. I find it fascinating how baren Mongolia is. Just look at this picture: it shows one of the largest cities and there is a clear wall outside the city. Beyond that wall there is nothing, nothing but grass and hills.
-
-
Sunset at Erhai Lake, China. Right below the sun there is a city called Dali.
-
-
Sunset somewhere in the northern part of China. Although the picture is not focused, the colors are amazing.
-
-
A late sunrise somewhere in the northern part of Ireland. I decided to get to the most norther part of Ireland, Malin Head. When I almost got there, a problem came along. A blizzard so strong that the roads were frozen and public transportation was down. So I did the next best thing, I walked there. Took me few days and I got to meet a lot of different people. Including two cool priests who gave me a lift for few miles.

This is home, Palm Coast, Florida. Maybe this picture is just special to me but I like how the lights are connected by a wire and one by one go in to the sunset.
-
-
I love this photo. I did not change colors or enhance any of my photos. This is a sunset in Kofu, Japan. The reason everything is red is because the lights were red. It made the most amazing experience going down the hill in to the city. At the top of this hill, there is a hot springs that overlooked Mt. Fuji in the distance.

Playing with friends on a saddle in Qinghai Lake, China. There is a whole story behind this picture but I’ll write about it another time. Qinghai Lake is at the very center of China, literally. A remote location with great people. I like this picture because it just looks fun.
-
-
Sunset in Dali, China. I failed to capture the full beauty of this moment. During the sunset the light stretched on the whole western side and I could not tell where the sun was.
-
-
Sunset in western part of Mongolia. I was taking a local bus to the Altai Mountains in Mongolia. We were moving, so the picture is not straight but amazing colors.
-
-
This! This is a cool photo. Not only because I almost froze waiting half an hour for this moment in the morning but I was able to capture it. I was able to put it in to a picture and bring out some of the feeling behind it. Of course for me, I’ll always remember it as a freezing cold morning, looking at it now though it looks warm and enticing. Like a warm bed on a cold morning.

-
Sunset in Mongolia. Our bus stopped in the middle of a major highway and gave us 5 minutes to use the toilet, women on the right side of the bus, men on the other. I like how the shadows stretch endlessly. It makes the horizon seem so far in the distance. A natural visual altering effect.

-
This is home, Palm Coast, Florida. I love how calm the river is. How perfectly it reflects the sky, almost like a piece of the sky just fell down and is a part of it.
-
-
Sunrise somewhere in the southern part of China. I felt spontaneous and got off a train in a random town. It seemed normal but the further I walked the more interesting it became. I found this abandoned school used in the Communist days. With the sun’s rays the old and broken down campus came alive. The uneven angle is the star here. It almost looks like a face looking down on you.
-
-
Sunset in Londonderry, Northern Ireland. I was just walking by a cemetery and saw the sun beaming through the crack of the wall, pretty.
-
-
Took this sunrise with my cell phone in Miami, Florida. It has everything: dramatic sunrise, a boat in the distance, seagulls, ocean, sand and a nice breeze.
-
-
Sunset in Mongolia. This use to be one of the largest Buddhist monasteries in Mongolia, during the change to communism it was torn down like many others. The sunset here, adds that extra colors to everything, looks nice.
-
-
I tried, I got so many photos of this moment but could not do it justice. I was spending a night with a nomad family in Mongolia and went wondering in the evening to the nearby hill. I enjoyed the walk and it beat milking horses. What this does not show are the herds of horses running fast and making dust below the mountain.

-
I was visiting my father in Brooklyn, New York City and saw this one morning. It almost looks like that building in the distance is shinning.
-
-
This is a sunset in Mongolia but it could be anywhere. I love the light and shadow at work here.
-
-
Sunset in Ireland. Due to yet another snowstorm my bus could not go any further and I spent the night in this town. Was able to find a place to spend the night but the host turned out to be a mean drunk. Was not the most pleasant night but it taught me a valuable lesson of how I should not behave.
-
-
I don’t remember where I was flying to but this is a cool photo. I love how the window scratches make it seem like the window is revolving around the sun.
-
-
This is somewhere in Japan. Its just amazing, nothing more nothing less.
-
-
Sunset in Gobi Desert, Mongolia. If you ever get the chance to go and see desert dunes, get to the top and watch the sunset.
-
-
Somewhere in Nepal. It was a cold night, but I found a guest house and was looking at this from a window…next to a stove.
-
-
Sunset in New York City. The clouds, the sun, the buildings, just perfect. Maybe needs a better resolution heh.
-
-
Sunrise somewhere in Mongolia. It always made me wonder if all that fog is smog or clouds.
-
-
Sunrise in western part of China. An interesting community. I was able to find a cheap place to spend the night in one of the Yurts with few people that I met along the way.
-
-
I love this photo. This is a sunset in Geneva, Switzerland. What I like about this is the grayness and the lone, beautiful alp in the distance behind it all. Its almost making a statement: I am tall, I am beautiful and I will outshine you! Selfish but just.
-
-
Sunset in Kyrgyzstan. I met a boy and we went together around the abandoned USSR era buildings.
-
-
Taking a ship in Scotland. Woke up early to get to the mainland from Orkney Islands. There was a storm, the waves and wind was so strong that it was very difficult to simply stand. The waves crashed and bounced the ship left and right, was fun. I like the English flag here though. It was flapping in the wind but was caught standing proud in this moment.

Ok, this is not really a sunset but close enough. What I like about this photo is the white cloud almost like in a frame surrounded by others. Almost like a snowy mountaintop. This is in Japan.
Thank you,
Aleksey
